This weeks passage comes from John 8:3-11. It’s an interesting passage, but with this passage and the video above we get 3 things about how to deepen the most important relationships we have.

  1. We need relationships even though they are messy. No one is normal. We’re all flawed. We need to understand and admit that we will fail. When we understand that, we are more likely to forgive others when they fail. Here’s a task: write down all your faults. Go ahead…we’ll wait…This task wasn’t to make you feel lousy, but to give you an understanding that we aren’t perfect, so why expect everyone else to be. Now, write down a list of the most significant people in your life. Go ahead…we’ll wait again…Now tell those people who significant they are in your life.
  2. We should be characterized by love. Notice how Jesus responded to the woman…with love and compassion. Check out 1 John 3:18. Talk is cheap, but action is so powerful! When was the last time you showed an act of love to one of those significant people on your list? Do you know what their love language is? Here are the 5 love languages: Acts of service, time, touch, gifts, word of affirmation.
  3. Love like you’re forgiven. Colossians 3:13 says is all
