In case you missed it, NHSM held a parents meeting on September 3rd. Here’s what we talked about.

1) Reviewed our purpose statement. NHSM exists to SHARE Christ with students, CONNECT them to other Christians and to HONOR Christ through GROWING closer to Him and CARING for those in need.

4) A new direction in Youth Ministry

  • SMALL GROUP FOCUS. Last year we focused on Evangelism, this year our focus will be on discipleship. For Jr. High we have small groups as a part of our evening. For Sr. High, we are changing the look. Based on 4 weeks in a month…the first Thursday of the month is a big outreach event. This is where we stress to our students to bring their friends. The other 3 weeks are 100% small group time led by a caring, loving adult leader.
  • Statistics show that our teens do not know or understand the Bible. In fact, 69%-94% of teenagers leave the faith after they leave high school. This change of focus is to help bring that statistic down.
