Basic info about Jesus:

  • Born between 705 B.C.
  • Started ministry around 30 years of age (27-28 A.D.)
  • Ministry lasted 1.5-3.5 years
  • Died between 30 – 33 years old.

Who was Jesus?
Was he crazy?
Psychologists look for these signs to see if someone is crazy or mentally unstable. Depression. Irrational anger, Irrational Fear, and Illogical conversations. Did Jesus fit any of those signs? No! The bible doesn’t portray him as depressed. He even taught joy! The only time Jesus ever got angry was in the Temple because people were trying to make money. It’s recorded in Matthew 21. Is that a logical reason to be angry? YES! Take this modern day example. Your parents tell you not to stay out passed 11pm. You come home at 1:00 am. Do they have the right to be angry with you? YES! Why? Because you deliberately did what they told you not to.

Was he a hypnotist?
Hypnotists say that it is impossible to hypnotize large groups of people. Here’s an example of Jesus performing a miracle in front of 5000 people. If Jesus was a hypnotist, this would not have worked. Plus, those being hypnotized have to be willing. Many of the miracles Jesus performed were in front of skeptics.

Was he the Messiah?
A Messiah is a leader or savior of a group. Jesus came to be the savior of all humanity. This Messiah was prophesied in the Old Testament. These OT prophesies were made up to 700 years before the birth of Jesus…and there are over 5 dozen major prophesies about this Messiah. In order for Jesus to be the Messiah all of the them had to come true. Check out one of the prophesies in Isaiah. Now, the odds of Jesus fulfilling 8 of those prophesies? 8 in one hundred million billion. It looks like this…
