Have you ever heard something that was unbelievable? Well watch this commercial.
We hear messages everyday. Some are easy to hear. Like it’s easy to hear that you got an A on your final rather than an F. Some messages are easy to accept. Like it’s easy to accept the idea that your family vacation is to Walt Disney World than it is to accept that your parents are getting divorced. Some messages bring us closer to God.
But what makes messages unbelievable it that they are out of the norm. Take a look at an unbelievable message in Luke 1:5-25.
Review… Zechariah was an old man. He was promised a son in his old age. He was also the first one to hear about Jesus coming. But, he also doubted this message. And because he doubted, he was mute for the entire pregnancy!
So, how does this relate to us this Christmas?
God has a message for you! It’s a message of hope, forgiveness and love. With this message, we have to choose how to respond to the message. We can either ignore it. Meaning we hear but do nothing with it. We can wait to see if it’s true. Meaning we hear the message, but do nothing out of fear. Fear of what people will think or say as we wait for that ‘sign’ from God. Or we can receive the message. Meaning we hear it and do something about it. We live out what we hear.
So, How are you responding to the message of Christ this Christmas?
